Luis Fábrega is a visual and sound artist who, since 2006, has been exploring photography, video and music as a single body of work. His camera travels through cities, bodies and gestures in motion, with a special focus on portraiture, dance and the nude, building an archive of more than thirty thousand images organised into projects that dialogue with each other. Based in Paris, he develops video art and hybrid pieces where the body is the centre and language, such as the video dance project SOKKA, created together with twenty performers around a Japanese aesthetic, or his work around the tree as a symbol of maturity. At the same time, he composes music that mixes jazz, pop and electronica; his work includes the album ‘LIFE IN A BOAT’, recorded on a barge on the Seine, as well as more than two hundred original pieces conceived as soundtracks for his own visual universe. His website functions as a chronological diary where photos, videos and sound intertwine to tell the same story: that of an artist who views the body, the city and time as territories that are transformed, exposed and remembered.
